Room rentals? A Dancing Coyote Farm Short Story
How did we come up with the idea of renting our extra bedrooms at Dancing Coyote Farm? Well, a couple of years ago, we became "empty-nesters" and started to think about down-sizing to a smaller home to make life a little easier on ourselves. However, after talking with friends contemplating similar life-changes, we discovered that most of our friends really wanted to stay in their large family homes — basically because they loved the country lifestyle and didn't want to give it up — nor did they want to move back to the hustle, noise and congestion of a metropolitan, suburban or urban setting! We didn't really want to either, so we decided not to sell right away and figure something out to make staying on the Farm work.
We soon realized that the answer was right in front of our faces inside our own home! Three now empty, gorgeous bedrooms (Two large ensuites and one large bedroom with a semi-private bath... ALL with their own private entrances from the home's wrap-around covered deck.) that we could rent. Plus, we asked ourselves (rhetorically), "Who wouldn't love having the opportunity to live in a custom-built farmhouse situated on 4 beautiful, scenic acres in a rural country setting located in the foothills of the Sierra Madre mountains?" With those basic thoughts in mind, we started to plan our new course.
Our retreat-like, fully-furnished and amenity-packed rooms are available to mature, discerning people looking for a great alternative to living in crowded, noisy apartment complexes or rundown rental homes.
As a result of our planning, we decided to create this website to help get the word out about our room rentals, especially to traveling nurses, other contract traveling medical and business professionals, as well as other people looking for more flexible rental terms rather than a 2-to-5-year long-term lease. To people who want to live in a homey, comfortable, safe, hassle-free, and inexpensive place (As it turns out, often not an easy thing to find in our locale and nearby areas.).
Each room is available for 13-week contract rentals (great for traveling nurses and other traveling medical, service, and business professionals) and month-to-month rentals for longer stays — absolutely no long-term leases help keep our renters' lives and plans flexible and hassle-free! And, just to be clear... We never rent our entire home to guests; and we are always on the Farm. Nor is the Farmhouse a party house.
